New Venue

All club members,

Sorry we haven’t been able to play for the past few weeks. We’ve been working behind the scenes getting things ready, and we now have a temporary venue lined up for the next few weeks.

We’ll be playing on a single court at Carbeile Junior School, still on Wednesdays at the usual time (7:30–10:00pm).

For now, this is only open to our club members, for insurance reasons. Please be aware that with only one court it will be quite busy, so we’ll manage things on the night to keep games moving and waiting times as fair as possible.

The fee will be £3. Please bring cash if you can, or be ready to transfer to the club account.

A big thank you to William and Joe for organising the school hall and also to the junior school for allowing us to use it.

We look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday and if you have any questions, please ask a member of the committee or contact the club on WhatsApp.

Medley Match - Liskeard C v Torpoint

Last night our medley team wrapped up their season away at Liskeard Inclusive against their C team. Iain, Claire, Joe, Mary, Jack and Ell all played some excellent badminton, delivering a strong all-round performance. The result was a convincing 9-0 win for Torpoint, a great way to sign off the season.

Plenty of quality rallies, even in a hall that felt more like a sauna at times! A big thank you to Liskeard, who were as friendly and welcoming as ever, and have kindly invited our members to join their club sessions on Mondays or Thursdays while our hall is closed. Well played everyone!

Medley Match - Torpoint v Liskeard C

Last night was the last home match of the season. Our Medley team were playing against Liskeard C and finished of the season with a 9 - 0 win. Amazing!

Open Match - Liskeard B v Torpoint

Our open team had a very successful last match of the season on Monday night, away to Liskeard.

We started well with Iain & Jason winning both their opening games and William & Stuart winning one end.

The winning continued with us only dropping 3 more games to win 8-4.

An excellent result to end the season and some really good games against a really friendly team.  Well played all.

Medley Match - Torpoint v Liskeard

Torpoint Medley were back at home last night against Liskeard Inclusive B, looking to follow up on last week’s 6–3 away win with another strong result.

After the first 5 match ups, we were 3-2 up. Despite losing their first end, Jacky & Mary secured an important point, coming through a tight three-end match 2-1. From there, the team made the most of home advantage (and our own shuttles!), with some excellent mixed pairs performances across the board.

Great wins and solid teamwork from Iain, Joe, Gary, Claire, Jacky & Mary saw Torpoint take a convincing 7–2 victory.

Open Match - Tavyside v Torpoint

Our open team played at Tavyside B on Sunday evening and had some really close games but lost 11-1. Well played team! Stuart, Jason, William and Jack.

Medley Match - Liskeard v Torpoint

Our Medley were at home last night against Liskeard Inclusive B in what turned out to be a very warm (and very fast!) evening of doubles badminton. The quick shuttles made for some challenging rallies, but the team adapted well.

Gary & Mary and Iain & Claire both went the distance in tight three-end matches and came through with wins. Claire & Jacky secured a solid 21–12, 21–12 victory, while Iain, Joe and Gary all added convincing wins to the tally.

A strong all-round team performance saw us take the match 6–3.
