The first round of the Beckley cup saw Torpoint in Div 4 playing hosts to Derriford in Division 2. They were always going to be hard games to win for Torpoint but the Handycap, which is announced at the end should go some way to even things up.
Torpoint did manage to win 6 ends which always meant that Derriford would need a lot of luck and a good handicap to win. Before the envelope was oppened Derriford were in front by 75 Aces. The handycap was + 180 to Torpoint which meant Torpoint had exceeded expectations and won bty 105 Aces.
