Torpoint needed to repeat their 6-3 victory against Ivybridge to stand any chance of winning the league.
The men lost their opening game against a strong Ivybridge pairing, but won their next two games.
The same with the ladies, Audrey standing in for the absent Sam.
So at 4-2 we went into the mixed pairings. Joe and Julie pulled off an impressive win, but Laurie and Lesley could not match their Ivybridge opponents. Paul and Audrey cruised to a comfortable win in the last game of the evening, meaning a 6-3 win to Torpoint.
